ITINERARY:

Your journey starts with a transfer to St. Petersburg city center. As you are driven through, your guide will give you a brief introduction to the history of St. Petersburg. Once in the city center, you will stop at the Spit of Vasilievsky Island to enjoy the magnificent view of the Neva River and Rostral Columns which in the past served as lighthouses and guided ships through the busy port of St. Petersburg. From Strelka opens a marvelous panoramic view of The Winter Palace (The Hermitage), The Admiralty, shining gilded dome of St. Isaac's Cathedral, and Peter & Paul Fortress which you will tour next.
The car will take you to the smallest island - The Island of Hares - where Peter & Paul Fortress is situated. You will walk on the fortress grounds and learn the story of St. Petersburg's origins. The tour continues to Peter & Paul Cathedral, where the Romanov monarchs are buried. Inside the cathedral you will see tombs of Peter the Great, Catherine the Great, Elizabeth, Alexander II etc. In 1998 remains of the last Russian Czar Nickolas II and his family were brought to the cathedral.
You will then reboard your car and drive along The Neva embankment to Cruiser Aurora which came into modern history as the battleship that signaled the Bolshevik Revolution in October 1917 and the Communist Era in Russia. Your car drives from the Petrograd side with its Art Nouveau architecture to 18th century St. Petersburg. Your route will take you past the central part of the city.
Must-see sights: Nevsky Prospect, Square of Arts, Spilled Blood Church, Alexandrinsky Theater, St. Isaac's Square, The Winter Palace, Palace Square, Bronze Horseman (a statue of Peter the Great), Strelka with Rostral Columns, Fine Arts Academy, The Admiralty, University, etc.

LynP43.:  We recently used "Guide Guru" for a private tour of St. Petersburg. We could not have been happier with the entire experience. It started with Natalia, the administrator, who was quick, efficient, flexible and a pleasure to deal with in making the arrangements. Inna, our guide, spoke perfect English and was extremely knowledgeable. She is a warm, charming person and added immensely to the enjoyment of our time in St. Petersburg. Vladimir, our driver, was a definite asset as well. He was cheerful, helpful, polite and professional. Together, they made us feel like real superstars. In short, NOTHING COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER!
LuizFortes: Guide-Guru was fantastic. Great guide and driver. Vera, our guide, showed enormous knowledge of Russian and city history answering every single question we had, besides her great sympathy. Beautiful city and awesome tour.  Read more reviews
