In the morning your car will take you to Peterhof which lies on the southern shore of the Gulf of Finland, 18 miles west of St. Petersburg. Your journey to Peterhof will take about 1 hour each way. During this time you will pass through the residential and suburban areas of St.Petersburg and see the apartment houses of the local citizenry. Upon arrival, you will leave your car at the parking lot and walk to Peterhof Fountain Park to admire the numerous fountains and gilded statues of the Main Cascade. You will see the Grand Cascade with the largest fountain of Samson Rending the Jaws of a Lion. You will next tour Grand Peterhof Palace. Built on a hill overlooking the Gulf of Finland, Grand Peterhof Palace was the first summer residence of the Russian Czars to be built in the St. Petersburg area. Peter the Great oversaw the construction himself and spent most of his spare time in this palace. Entering this palace you will make your way up the Gold Staircase which is decorated with gold leaf and intricate wood-carvings. During this visit, you will view the meticulously restored lavish interiors of the early 18th century filled with original furniture, beautiful chandeliers, and authentic paintings.

Robnnata: Great tour of Peterhof and Catherine's Palace. Both are outstanding and have incredible opulence as well as rich history. Peterhof is worth the visit for the gravity powered fountains alone. Very impressive. You might consider taking the Hydrofoil boat back to the Hermitage instead of your tour car as well and you can get a unique perspective of St. Petersburg as you come in (also a short ride).
Our guide was Svetlana. She was incredible with facts and interesting stories. She knew the grounds of both palaces very well.
The company was easy to work with, very professional, and accommodating. For example - we mixed up the time and were 30 minutes late but Svetlana & the manager patiently waited and did not make us feel in a hurry at all. Overall - worth it and customer friendly.

TheSELondonersWe had been recommended to Guide Guru and would in turn be happy to recommend them to others. The admin was great and simple.
Inna, our tour guide was great, both with us and our teenage kids. She engaged everybody in the group and was full of useful and informative information (we like a lot of information!). She was flexible to our needs and full of useful advice for our trip.
